Dr Benjamin Yip, Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Alpha Digestive & Liver Centre, spent a meaningful weekend in Phnom Penh on his first visit to Cambodia. The trip provided an opportunity to better understand the local healthcare landscape and to strengthen collaboration with SingMed International, Beyond Medical Group’s regional partner supporting patient coordination and cross-border healthcare access between Cambodia and Singapore.
During his visit, Dr Yip also toured the soon-to-be-completed SingMed International Medical Centre, a facility that will expand access to multidisciplinary services for Cambodian patients. The collaboration aims to enhance continuity of specialist care, particularly in gastroenterology, hepatobiliary medicine, orthopaedics, and neurosurgery—areas where timely diagnosis and coordinated treatment are essential.
Beyond site visits, Dr Yip also had the opportunity to network with key members of the SingMed and regional medical community, including Dr Cheng Yuin Yin, General Practitioner at SingMed International; Dr Navdeep Singh, newly joined Fertility and Obstetrics specialist at Alpha IVF (Kuala Lumpur); and various specialists in colorectal surgery, breast surgery, orthopaedic surgery, and neurosurgery from Singapore. These exchanges further strengthen a robust health-referral community, fostering a collective approach to comprehensive and coordinated care for patients across borders.

This visit marks an important step toward a growing bilateral relationship between Dr Yip and SingMed International. Through continued collaboration, patients can look forward to more seamless access to advanced diagnostic and endoscopic services, whether in Phnom Penh or Singapore.
